Carseldine (opens in a new tab) currently directs practical tests to Zillmere until further notice. Check the location on your booking confirmation; do not go to the Carseldine office simply because that is your usual transport centre.
Redcliffe's current page lists car tests. Do not rely on an older description of all-class testing there. A centre's generic reference to practical tests also does not establish that it assesses every heavy vehicle class. TMR does not conduct MC practical tests.
Choose a centre by suitability and travel
Start with the class being assessed and the vehicle you can bring. For a car test, compare a small number of centres that you can reach comfortably. For a truck test, confirm the exact heavy class before arranging the truck. The nearest office is useful only if it offers the assessment you need.
Consider the whole journey, including meeting an instructor, travelling to the centre and returning afterwards. A distant appointment may create extra travel and vehicle-hire time even if its government fee is the same. Ask for the complete private service inclusions before choosing an earlier slot farther away.
Do not choose from an unsupported claim that one centre is easier. This guide does not rank centres by pass rate, examiner or route. A convenient location and suitable preparation are more useful planning factors than a promise about the result.
Distinguish the office address from the meeting point
Some private services begin at a learner's address or a separate meeting point. Your government appointment is at the location in TMR's confirmation. Keep these addresses separate in your calendar so you do not confuse the start of a warm-up lesson with the time to arrive for the test.
Logan's customer service centre and Driver Assessment Centre have different street numbers. The Carseldine notice also matters because practical tests are directed to Zillmere. Check the exact centre name rather than relying only on a suburb search or a saved map pin.
Read current notices on the official centre page shortly before travelling. A general counter opening time may differ from a booked test time. Follow the appointment instructions if you are booked before the doors open, and contact TMR if the location details conflict.
Practise road types rather than a promised route
Prepare for the driving situations relevant to your licence class. With lawful supervision, practise intersections, lane selection, speed changes and manoeuvres on suitable roads. Build difficulty gradually and ask for feedback about decisions that still require prompting.
Familiarity with the surrounding area can help you understand the journey to the centre, but an advertised test route is not a guarantee of where the examiner will take you. Roadworks, traffic and the assessment itself can affect the drive. Your preparation should remain useful when directions change.
Avoid interrupting other tests while practising near a centre. Choose lawful places to stop and discuss feedback, and keep access points clear. The purpose of a preparation session is safe driving practice, not following another applicant's assessment vehicle.
Coordinate changes to both bookings
Keep the TMR appointment and any instructor or vehicle booking together in your records. Before changing the government test, check whether a suitable vehicle and support service can be arranged for the new time. Before changing the private booking, check what that means for the government appointment.
Read the current cancellation and rescheduling deadlines for each service. A private provider's deadline does not replace TMR's rules. If weather, illness or a vehicle problem affects attendance, contact the relevant providers promptly and retain their responses.
Do not assume a reserved truck can simply be replaced with any vehicle in the same licence class. Heavy vehicle assessment specifications are separate from the ordinary class definition. Confirm a replacement vehicle meets those specifications and has the intended transmission.
Check the final details before leaving
Confirm the centre, class, appointment time, vehicle registration, registered operator's permission and documents. Arrange a lawful journey home for either result. If you pass, complete the licence-issue process before relying on the new entitlement; if you do not, your existing conditions and any withdrawal of authority still matter.
Use the linked official pages and TMR booking service as the final source for current arrangements. The directory helps you shortlist locations, while your confirmed booking establishes where and when your assessment is scheduled.
Book and prepare
Use the official TMR booking service or call 13 23 80. Some applicants, including certain overseas licence holders and people with exemptions, may need TMR assistance instead of online booking. Confirm eligibility, any required logbook approval and the hazard perception requirement first.
TMR lists Saturday car testing at selected centres, including Greenslopes, Logan, Zillmere and Caboolture. Availability is determined by the booking service. Its practical-test page says heavy vehicle tests are not currently available on Saturdays. General counter opening hours may differ from test appointments.
Choose a convenient centre and practise a range of surrounding road types with lawful supervision. There is no basis in this guide for labelling a centre easy or promising a pass from route practice.
Arrive at least 20 minutes early with the required licence, documents and suitable vehicle. Read your TMR booking's change deadlines and adjust any instructor or test-vehicle booking separately.
