This is a summary. The Instructor Partner Terms, Code of Conduct and Privacy Policy are the binding documents. You accept the Terms and the Code, and acknowledge the Privacy Policy, when you register.
Parties and scope
The agreement is between Prime Nest Holdings Pty Ltd, trading as LicenceLane, and your business: the sole trader or company named by its legal name and ABN when you apply. You accept it, with the Code of Conduct, during registration. If you accept for a company, you confirm you can bind it. Every individual who teaches for your business must be approved by LicenceLane. Car (C) instruction, automatic and manual, is offered Australia-wide; LR, MR, HR and HC are offered only in Queensland. Motorcycle and other classes are excluded. Read clauses 1 and 2 of the Instructor Partner Terms.
Eligibility and verification
Before activation and while you use LicenceLane, you must hold every licence, instructor authority, accreditation, medical clearance and child-safety screening required for the class and place you teach, and have the right to work. You provide the evidence LicenceLane asks for, allow it to be verified, and report any expiry, suspension, restriction or investigation immediately. LicenceLane may pause affected listings while it checks a genuine concern. A verification badge is a point-in-time check, not a government endorsement. Read clauses 4 and 5 of the Instructor Partner Terms.
Your obligations as an instructor
Your vehicle must be registered, roadworthy, suitable for the service and fitted with the controls and signs the law requires, supplied by your business. Deliver the full booked time and keep accurate records. A qualified substitute needs LicenceLane's approval and the learner's agreement, and you stay responsible for them. A LicenceLane booking is not nationally recognised training or a licensing assessment, so don't advertise it as one. For test-day support, check the learner's separately booked test details and confirm where you'll meet. Read clauses 6, 7 and 8 of the Instructor Partner Terms.
Our role as the platform
You appoint LicenceLane as your non-exclusive booking and payment agent. It markets your services, makes the lesson contract with the learner on your behalf and collects the payment. Your business supplies the lesson; LicenceLane supplies the marketplace. It is not a driving school, an RTO or a licensing authority, and it does not guarantee a pass. Learners can buy prepaid hours from LicenceLane before choosing an instructor. Those hours are LicenceLane's responsibility until they are booked with you, and you accept their allocated value as payment for that booking. LicenceLane may retain amounts attributable to lawfully expired, unused and unreserved entitlements only to the extent permitted by the Learner Terms and law. You run your own business: you choose your areas, hours, vehicle and teaching method, can work through other channels, and no work or income is guaranteed. Read clauses 2 and 3 of the Instructor Partner Terms.
Bookings, pricing and platform fees
Activating your bookable hours lets eligible learners book and pay instantly, and a paid booking must be honoured. LicenceLane sets the price the learner pays, and the price, commission, payout fee and your estimated earnings are shown before you activate availability. Commission is 10% inclusive of GST on bookings confirmed between 25 September 2026 and 11:59 pm AEST on 28 February 2027, even if the lesson is taught later, and 20% inclusive of GST on bookings confirmed from 1 March 2027. It is calculated on the lesson price after discounts, never on the platform booking fee learners pay LicenceLane. If LicenceLane raises commission or the payout fee, it tells you in advance by email or in your account. Your availability is never paused for a change: you keep taking bookings, or stop offering times and leave with no exit fee. Read clauses 9, 10 and 11 of the Instructor Partner Terms.
Payments and payouts
LicenceLane receives the learner's payment as your agent, deducts commission and a $10 payout fee (GST inclusive) per transfer. Completed lessons become eligible for payout seven elapsed days after they end, and eligible amounts are paid in your next weekly or fortnightly Monday payout run, or the next banking day if applicable. The statement shows each booking, the GST in it, commission and the payout fee with their GST, refunds, adjustments and the net amount, and is LicenceLane's tax invoice for its fees. LicenceLane issues the learner's invoices for your lessons in your business name and ABN. If you're not registered for GST, no GST is charged on your lessons. LicenceLane can hold only amounts tied to a genuine refund, chargeback, fraud or payment dispute, and may report your details to the ATO under the Sharing Economy Reporting Regime. Read clause 12 of the Instructor Partner Terms.
Cancellations, refunds and no-shows
Cancel only where delivering the service would be unsafe, unlawful or genuinely impracticable. If you cancel, do not attend or cannot complete the service, including after a breakdown, the learner chooses a refund or a new time, including when they paid with prepaid hours. Cancelling with less than 24 hours' notice for a reason within your control can cost up to $50; you see the calculation and can respond first. Learner cancellations follow the Learner Terms. When a learner cancels late and an amount is kept, you're paid that amount less commission. A refund of your lesson price comes off your payout, with the commission reversed. Read clause 13 of the Instructor Partner Terms.
Insurance and liability
At your expense, hold motor vehicle insurance that covers paid instruction, learner driving and test use (including compulsory injury cover and property damage), plus professional indemnity and public liability cover. Provide evidence on request, report any lapse straight away and stop affected lessons until cover is back. Each party promises it can enter the agreement and will follow the law, and Australian Consumer Law rights are not excluded. Each party is responsible for its own breach and negligence. You indemnify LicenceLane for reasonable loss caused by your negligent, fraudulent or unlawful conduct or material breach, reduced to the extent LicenceLane contributed, and a disputed amount isn't deducted unless agreed or decided by a court or tribunal. Read clauses 6 and 17 of the Instructor Partner Terms.
Student data and privacy
Use learner information only to deliver and administer the booking, meet legal obligations or deal with a genuine safety issue or complaint. Protect it, avoid unnecessary copies and delete it when it is no longer needed. Never scrape or sell platform data, and market to learners only with separate consent. LicenceLane may display the profile material you supply while your account is active. Read clause 14 of the Instructor Partner Terms.
Conduct, ratings and suspension
Reviews must be genuine: no manipulation, undisclosed incentives, incentives conditional on a positive review (disclosed or not) or retaliation (Code of Conduct, clause 9). Report crashes, injuries, child-safety concerns, serious complaints and data incidents promptly. LicenceLane may restrict an account for safety, invalid authority, fraud, repeated cancellation or material breach, acting immediately only where delay creates a material risk; otherwise it tells you the concern and lets you respond first. You can ask for a restriction to be reviewed, and it never blocks your records or undisputed earned payouts. Read clauses 15 and 16 of the Instructor Partner Terms.
Term and termination
You can end the agreement by written notice with no exit fee. LicenceLane can end it on reasonable notice for a genuine operational reason, or for a material breach you haven't fixed. Ending it does not cancel a confirmed booking, and payment, refund, privacy and legal obligations survive. Read clause 16 of the Instructor Partner Terms.
Changes to this agreement
LicenceLane may update the Terms for the future, with reasonable notice of a material change unless the law, safety or security requires an immediate one. A confirmed booking keeps its agreed price and commission. A change never pauses your availability. If you don't accept a change, you can stop offering availability with no exit fee, once your existing bookings are complete. Read clauses 1, 10 and 11 of the Instructor Partner Terms.
Governing law
Queensland law governs the agreement. Raise a dispute at info@licencelane.com.au. Regulator complaints, urgent relief and other legal remedies remain available. Notices are sent to the email or portal on your account, so keep your details current. Read clause 18 of the Instructor Partner Terms.
